The short version: Njord's Compass never asks for, stores, or has access to your bank or brokerage credentials. Photos and screenshots you upload are read once to extract holdings and are then permanently discarded. We do not sell your data. Ever.

1. Who we are

Njord's Compass is operated by Njords Compass LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use njordscompass.com and the Njord's Compass application (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use these to create and secure your account and to deliver your dispatches.

Holdings you enter. The assets, quantities, cost bases, and account labels you add to your vault — whether by photo, screenshot, CSV, manual entry, or by telling the Oracle. This is the data the Service exists to track, and it is stored in your account.

Images you upload. Photos and screenshots are processed to extract holdings and then deleted. We do not retain the image files.

Oracle conversations. Questions you ask the Oracle and the answers it gives are stored with your account so you can revisit them and so the Oracle has context for follow-ups.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.

Usage and device data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) used to keep the Service running securely and to diagnose problems.

3. What we never collect

Bank, brokerage, or exchange usernames and passwords.
Linked-account or API access to any financial institution.
Government ID numbers, Social Security numbers, or full payment card numbers.

4. How we use your information

To operate the Service: maintain your vault, calculate values, and generate your Morning Outlook, Midday Pulse, and EOD Recap dispatches.
To answer questions you ask the Oracle, which may involve sending your question and relevant holdings to a third-party AI model provider under contract with us.
To fetch market prices and news relevant to your positions from market-data providers. We send tickers, not your identity.
To bill you and manage your subscription.
To send service emails such as dispatches, receipts, and important account notices. You can turn dispatch emails off in Settings.
To protect the Service against abuse and to comply with the law.

5. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service and who are bound to use it solely for that purpose: Google (authentication and cloud hosting), Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, our market-data providers, and our AI model provider. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your holdings with advertisers, data brokers, or financial institutions.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

6. Not financial advice

Dispatches and Oracle responses are AI-generated informational content based on the holdings you enter and public market data. They are not personalized investment, tax, or legal advice, and they may contain errors. Confirm anything important with a licensed professional before acting on it.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual holdings at any time from your vault. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will complete the deletion within 30 days, except for billing records we are legally required to keep.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to the operator of the Service. No system is perfectly secure, which is exactly why we designed the Service to never hold your financial credentials in the first place.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Email us and we will honor these requests. We do not discriminate against you for exercising them.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
